Owned by winemaker Charles Smith, K Vintners was established in 2001 with the production of 330 cases of 1999 K Syrah.
Charles sold the wine out of his Astro Van, a strategy he stuck with for nearly 8 years. The 1999 K Syrah immediately revealed that Charles could not only make great wine, but he could make great wine that people would remember. On the label was a stamped simple, giant, black on white letter “K”, big enough to spot across the room. It’s the same iconic and unforgettable “K” that is still used today. K Vintners is dedicated to making wines from small lots of single vineyard Syrahs and field blends of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Tempranillo and Viognier. All wines are hand- picked, fermented with naturally occurring yeasts and basket pressed.
K Vintners produces some of the highest rated wines in Washington State and all of the United States. K Vintners is a celebration of Charles’ dream and his opportunities to make superlative wines.
